A partnership agreement was signed between the Foundation and CAPES (Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel under the Brazilian Ministry of Education) on 1 July 2010 to support mobility and exchanges between French, Brazilian and African scientists.
The agreement establishes a framework for scientific cooperation between the two institutes through research and training in agriculture and sustainable development in France and Brazil. This framework provides for the possibility of collaboration with the African countries, in a joint effort to contribute to knowledge sharing and scientific capacity building. This collaboration operates in the context of calls for proposals that finance joint research projects and inter-university, multidisciplinary partnerships on plants and foster exchanges and mobility of professors, researchers and students in France, Brazil and Africa. The first joint call for proposals was launched on 7 July 2010.
