Research by the PATHO unit is focused on bacterial, fungal and viral diseases of fruits and vegetables in the Mediterranean basin. Studies are also conducted on Ceratocystis canker of plane trees and viral diseases of ornamental crops. The goal is to develop rational and efficient disease control methods in a context of sustainable, high quality agricultural production.
